This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Sara Fitzpatrick who was born in Illinois on November 25, 1988 and passed away on May 30, 2005 at the age of 16. We will remember her forever. I named Sara after my Aunt Sara Kurtright who lived in Stanberry Mo. Sara was a wonderful daughter, sister, cousin and friend. She played clarinet in the band at school and had just started painting. Her favorite color was blue. Her favorite food was potatoes, baked with tons of sour cream. She loved music and her favorite bands were Good Charlotte, Slip Knot and Simple Plan. Sara was a very sweet and kind person. Her favorite thing to do besides hanging out with her friends was to walk over to our Church where they had a playground with her walkman. She would sit on the swings and listen to her music. Memorial day 2005 a friend had picked her up and they were going to pick up Sara's boyfriend and just hang out. She had a great day that day and was happy. Her friend driving her home was driving to fast and lost control of his car and hit a pole and Sara was killed instantly. Her friend survived. That was the worst day of my life when I heard that my daughter had died. I thank God everyday for the gift he gave me in Sara. God took her back home with him and someday God will take me back home and I will see her again.

Thanks you / A. Friend
For your smiles.
Thank you the memories. Few but still there. Somehow someway, all of this has helped my family grow. In some odd sense. As if to tell us to stop & smell the roses. Always tell one another we love each other.

I miss you / Mom (Mom)
I have a hard time coming here Sara. It's just to painful for your old mom to see that beautiful smile. Nothing eases the pain. It seems so unfair that you never got a chance to grow up, forever 16. I miss you so much.

butterfly / A. Friend (friend)
I saw a butterfly the day after Sara died. It came around quite often in the days following as if to tell me "i'm ok". This butterfly stayed and never lft even when you walked past. There is a saying that a butterfly is like a spirit.

To my sweet Sara We raised Two thousand five hundred dollars for a scholarship in your memory for a classmate graduating in 07. I'll pick someone you thought a lot of. The smartest kid in the class won't be getting this. It will go to someone who needs it and even maybe a special ed. kid.
I love you

Memorial to Sara The Church will be putting in a stone bench with a plaque that says in Memory of Sara Fitzpatrick. We raised $1,700.00 for the new playground. For those of you who don't know the playground was destroyed in a bad storm the day after we buried Sara. Sara played there as a young child until her death. She would go there with her walkman and swing and just think. I plan on posting pictures of the bench and the playground soon. I love you my sweet Sara. |
